  • How is this course different from other certificate courses in diabetes management?

    This is an on-job training course for busy, practicing General Physicians. This is at the same time a two-way course, where Faculty-Participants interact face to face. It is once-a-month contact program spread over a year, comprising of 12 modules.

  • What are the main objectives of the course?

    Primary Objective:
    To enhance knowledge, skills and core competencies of Primary Care Physicians in the management of Diabetes.
    Secondary Objectives:
    To develop/update a standard teaching protocol and module for evidence based learning on Diabetes.
    To build a network of Primary Care Physicians and specialists in the field of diabetes.
    Update primary care physicians with the latest advancements in the field of diabetes.

  • Am I eligible for the course?

    (The course would be open to: Medical graduate (MBBS) with Post-graduate degree


    Medical graduate (MBBS) with at least 3 years of experience as primary care physician/ clinical experience


    Medical graduate (MBBS) as per recommendation of Regional Faculty.)

  • What is the course fee?

    For enrollment in the certificate program, completed application form with a demand draft of Rs. 20,000/- can be submitted in favour of   "Public Health Foundation of India" payable at New Delhi.

  • What is the duration of the course?

    Total duration of the course is twelve months with once-a-month contact sessions(only on a Sunday) lasting for 4 - 6 hours.

  • Is the course affiliated to MCI, RSSDI etc?

    No, but the course has been recognized by SAFES for the period 2017-2019.

  • What is in it for a General Physician with established practice?

    The course will apprise the GP with the latest advances in Diabetes Management, the curriculum follows latest international and national guidelines and the case studies discussed are pertaining to real life patient situations.

  • Can I skip the module that I already know too well?

    The discussions during each session are invaluable and besides that the attendance criteria for participant assessment is a minimum of 10 (out of 12) modules to receive the certificate of successful completion of the course.

  • What are the criteria for successful completion of the course?

    The criteria for successful completion of the course will be as follows:

         Attendance in at least 10 out of 12 modules (including pre-test and post-test for each module)

         Successful completion and submission of all the three Interim assignments

         Clearance of final written exam in the form of 50 MCQs in an hour, exam to be held along with Module 12 (at the respective
    centers) (min 50% score required to clear the exam)
